Securing a place on the World’s Highest Marathon is competitive, with only 25 public places available.
Our application process is straightforward. We begin by asking for some basic information about you, your experience, and your motivation for taking part. From there, we’ll arrange a short call to talk things through, answer your questions, and make sure this challenge is right for you. Places are allocated based on two key principles:
1) Priority of application (we review applications in the order they are received)
2) Overall suitability for the expedition
Suitability is not based on running speed or race times. In fact, we aim to create a balanced and supportive group that includes both highly experienced runners and complete novices, with a mix of ages, backgrounds, and genders. This is about resilience, teamwork, and shared experience - not performance alone.
If we’re unable to offer you a place on this event, we will keep your details on file and prioritise you for future expeditions and unique challenges.

Applications open from 14th May 2026
We will start reviewing applications and having calls with prospective team members from June 1st
If you are offered a place, we will explain the process, cancellation terms and enable you to secure you place with a deposit (places will be held for 2 weeks)
We will maintain a waiting list for those who aren't immediately offered a place
